Frequently Asked Questions

We have put this FAQs page together to help with some of the questions you may have about CBD. We have a great product but if you are unsure about CBD you should seek advise from your doctor or research CBD from trusted sources.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of over 60+ naturally occurring cannabinoid compounds found in Cannabis, an annual herbaceous flowering plant. CBD oil is derived from an organic substance formed in the plant’s secretions. Both marijuana and hemp are forms of cannabis. However, cannabis does not mean marijuana.

Cannabis is the genus name and general umbrella term, under which all forms of marijuana and hemp fall. Until recently, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, was the most well-known and studied cannabinoid due to its abundance in marijuana. However, as the second most prevalent cannabinoid in marijuana and the top non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp, CBD has been gaining momentum in the scientific community and media.

Unlike THC, CBD does not cause any feeling of “high,” which contributes to its legalization across the United States. CBD does not typically have any immediate noticeable effect, though some customers have reported otherwise when using isolates.

Our CBD products and extracts are derived from hemp (not marijuana), and can also be referred to as CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or plainly “hemp extracts,” since they typically contain more than just CBD. However, CBD oil is different from hemp seed oil and organic hemp oil, as these are derived from hemp seeds (not the resin) and do not contain cannabidiol.

Is CBD legal?

CBD is legal, because hemp is legal in the UK. Hemp is a plant that is safe, natural, and non-toxic. It can be used for almost anything. There need not to be any grey areas when it comes to CBD.
When it comes to cannabis, however, it is still illegal to use it or possess it. Maybe this is why people tend to get confused. Cannabidiol (CBD) though, is not considered a controlled substance in the UK. It is therefore 100% legal and can be freely distributed in the UK without restrictions.
If you want to use CBD products it is TOTALLY legal to do so.

Can I take CBD with other medication?

It is always advised to speak to your GP or a medical professional about taking CBD with other medication. Always stick to the recommended dose.

How much CDB should I take a day?

Each person’s endocannabinoid system works differently and reacts differently with each person body. There is no straight, solid scientific information that states how much CBD you should be taking at any one time, always start off with a small dose and work your way up.
Height and weight play a part as well as the quality of the CBD. If you are bigger or taller than the average person you may need more and visa versa. Also, if you have smoked cannabis in the past you may feel like you need more.
Either way we advise you do not go over the daily dosage recommendation of 200mg.

Can I use CBD whilst pregnant or breast feeding?

CBD is NOT recommended when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does CBD make you 'High'?

People often believe that because CBD is associated with the cannabis plant, that if they take it will make them “stoned” like smoking cannabis does! WRONG!
Your state of mind will not change if you take CBD at all. It can make changes in the body.
The way we extract CBD allows us to pull all of the natural and beneficial nutrients out of the cannabis plant without getting anything nasty in there as well. Not only are you NOT getting high, but you are getting a natural and safe product.

Will I fail a drug test after taking CBD?

When it comes to cannabis, drugs tests pick up THC (the compound that does make you high). Drugs test are carried out because THC is known for the feelings of euphoria it provides and this is the illegal part!
Most hemp oil or CBD products are sold with much lower levels of THC (less than 0.2%) so most consumers will never have a problem passing a drugs test
Remember, CBD isn’t even being tested for and most work places aren’t going to have a problem with you using it- it’s non-psychoactive
All of this said, individuals who take UNUSUALLY large doses of CBD (1000-2000mg of hemp oil daily) could theoretically fail a drugs test but let’s put this in perspective
We suggest that our customers do not go over the recommended 200mg a day of hemp oil. Even if you took 3 of our CBD capsules morning, noon, and night (3x10mg) and then use our CBD oil spray 4 times a day (4x5mg) you are still only having 50mg of CBD. Nowhere near 1000mg or 2000mg to be able to fail a drugs test.

Is CBD addictive?

CBD is NOT addictive as it contains no/very little THC. THC is the ingredient that causes cannabis to be addictive in some people.

Whats the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Scientifically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana are the same plants, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. They have a drastically different genetic profile though. Industrial Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. The major difference is how industrial hemp has been bred compared to a marijuana form of Cannabis sativa. Typically speaking, industrial hemp is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and barely has any flowering buds, while a marijuana strain of Cannabis sativa will be smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds.
99% of the time marijuana has a high amount of THC and only a very low amount of CBD. Hemp, on the other hand, naturally has a very high amount of CBD in most instances and only a trace amount of THC. Fortunately, the cannabinoid profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from cannabis without the ‘high.’ Hemp is used for making herbal supplements, food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more, whereas marijuana is usually used just recreationally, spiritually, and medicinally. The term cannabis oil can refer to either a marijuana or hemp derived oil since marijuana and hemp are two different forms of cannabis.

Does CBD have side effects?

CBD has very few negative side effects and it doesn’t negatively interact with the parts of the brain responsible for breathing and heart rate. However, with that being said, it is entirely possible to take too much CBD. For some people taking too high a dose of CBD can lead to drowsiness and lethargy.
